TEN on TUESDAY

Right now....
1. It is 11:30 pm, I am tired and ready for sleep although I still want to do my posting for today.

2. The second to last Oprah show is on in the background. The show that I tried to get tickets for but after seeing it on air, I don't think I missed much.

3. I am planning for my race schedule for the summer/fall season. Some big plans coming!

4. I am still in awe of the tremendous power and strength it took to rock the hills of Galena this past weekend in the Duathlon. Story and pictures to come soon.

5. I am very thankful for the life I lead as my family provides me such love, peace and happiness every day. I love that Scott and I are fortunate enough to know that we are equal partners in our journey through this life. Without that, neither one of us would thrive and be the full person we are meant to be today, tomorrow and in the next of days. I hope we instill in our children to dream big and live the life they desire for today, in the now...for there will never be a better time.

Right now...
6. I am loving all the sweet baby moments with Rylan. Although he is becoming quite the big boy, he still loves to be held, snuggled and rocked to sleep and this is heavenly to his momma. I also treasure all of his daily hugs and spontaneous kisses he plants on my cheeks. It makes my heart stop every time.

7. I am enjoying spending time outdoors with the kids. On the swingset. Playing in the sand. Planting spring flowers. Running through the carpets of lush green grass. Stopping for ice cream treats. And the feeling of childish freedom I still get when I sway on swings.

8. I am enjoying seeing Makenna Claire mature into such a little person with a strong direction if life. There is no doubt that this girl knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go there. And we love that in her.

9. I am so content at where life is at this moment.

10. Back to #1...better get off to bed so I can have the energy tomorrow to keep up with our little people who direct my days. Night..xo

Ten on Tuesday

1. Rylan's vocabulary is expanding every day.  Words are popping out of his mouth all the time. You know... the ones that stop us and say, "did he just say what I think he just said?" Wasn't I surprised when I asked him "how are you Rylan?".. and he saids, "good!"   And just as shocked when he asked for "ap-pple" and  "iiice ceam".

2. Last week was a busy for us.  Two theater experiences, one seeing Rylan's beloved Elmo, a visit to the Morton Arboretum on a very hot 90 degree day (thank goodness for all the water play stations!) and Makenna's Ballet/ Tap Recital.  We also had our friend Robert from Hong Kong stay with us for the week while him and Scott made client visits all week long.

3. This week will be a bit quieter I think.  It's great to be busy but sometimes we need to let go of the peddle a bit and that is what we are going to do.  But now it's house stuff, packing and getting ready for our next adventure.

4.  Galena is this Saturday.  I am getting so excited, hoping for nice weather and looking forward to going away for the weekend.  Scott has been sick with a bad sinus infection for several weeks so hopefully he will recover so he can race as well.  I'm sure he'll be good to go and still knock me out of water time wise..but that's ok!  Let's go get those hills babe!!

5. Makenna enjoyed her dance recital immensely.  I was one of the lucky momma's to watch the girls back stage and I have to say, they were pretty awesome!  And once on stage, they rocked their routine.  MC soaked in all the girl time and the moments afterwards, excitedly greeted with such joy by our family.

6. him and me...he and i...mr and mrs...just like pb and j...together.. life is sweet.
(and this is captured thanks to the pocketbooth app on our iphones. )

7. Uncle Brad and DeChantel are in paradise so their little 5 pound pup is staying at the Jayhan and Case casa's.  She's in her own paradise, of sort.  HA!

8. And when all the love gets to be too much, she does have a place to put her feet, snuggle in and catch a few moments of peace.

Ruff life, isn't it?!

9. While I am typing, MC is watching Max and Ruby goes to the Dr.  and this is what I overhear on the show.
"having a heartbeat is very important if you want to stay healthy."
Yep, no joke, & wherever you are and whatever you do,  that would be the understatement of the day year.

10.  Anyone overdue for a hair stylin appointment?  Yes?!....Phone # is SOO-CUUTE.

Ten on Tuesday

1.  Well hellllooo Spring..or Summer really...  Sunny, dry and 88 degree temperatures.  Nothing like skipping right over to hot summer days.  We spent much of today here...me and my monkeys.

2. I hope all you momma's out there had a wonderful mother's day.  I have to say over here in Case land, it was just about perfect.  No, it was perfect!  We spent Saturday honoring Scott's mom and grandma by spending the day with them at Brookfield Zoo and then dinner, topped with a trip to Oberweis for ice cream.  So much fun!

On Sunday we started our day with Makenna and I running in the Run Like a Mother Race in Naperville. Makenna ran an entire mile (no walking for her!) in the kids run and then I ran the 5k and raised the roof by 3 minutes in my time.  Actually, I don't think I have ever run 9 minute miles, let alone 3 of them in succession before, and that is what I did.  So very happy!!
And what do you do after a great run??...sit in the sun, chillin to the music playing and sipping wine of course!  What a great weekend.

3. Rylan isn't even 2 yet but little temper tantrums have begun. Crying loudly, occasionally hitting, and if he has his pacifier in his mouth, he ejects it out for a flight of a couple of feet. Of course then he realizes that might not of been the best thing to do and asks for his "baa" again.   It is still cute I must say, but I know those days are limited.

4. Oh yea..and he has learned the word "no". Fun times have begun.

5. Trying to plan MC's summer has been quite the challenge.  For the girl who wants to everything..and I mean everything...it makes it a bit tricky to find a nice happy medium of a schedule.  Enough to keep her happy and busy, but yet have some off time so we can all go out and play together.  And she's only 4..I can't imagine how it will be in the years to come. Oy..

6. Who knew going down the slide head first could be so much fun!

7.  She did..that's who!

8. We have new "neighbors" again and the kids love to "visit" them.
We first spotted them on Sunday ...I believe just hours old with their eyes still closed.

 9. And here they are today.  Eyes open, hair starting to grow in and much more alert. We even saw the mother bird feed her babes a worm..very cool!

10.  Have you gone toes up with a book lately?  I think he has the right idea.

Off to bed, to read a few pages before these eyes close for some slumber.  Night!
