Happy Halloween!!!

We have been on the Halloween Fun Ride for the last week.  It all started last Friday night with a neighbor's Halloween party followed by a weekend of fall festivities.  Love this time of year!  We are in for a wet one today though, and with Makenna's school parade already canceled, we are hoping it is dry for an hour tonight so we can trick or treat our neighborhood.

For the past several months, the kids have been dead set on being the friends from Scooby Doo Cast for Halloween.  Makenna- Daphne / Rylan-Fred/ Mommy-Thelma/ Daddy-Shaggy/ Abby-Scooby Dooby Doo, of course!  However, come two weeks ago when we were making our final purchases for costumes, Rylan made a right turn. " I don't want to be Fred. I want to be BATMAN!"  After a few double checks, we knew he was not turning back.

However, these two costumes cannot fit them any better at this time in their lives. Makenna, always the girl full of confidence and girly sass who often asks older than her age, the teenager Daphne is perfect! And Rylan right now who is all boy, whom I have joked that at his fourth birthday he received a testosterone surge because he is now very physical and is attracted to ninja's, superheroes and anything with a sword- Batman makes sense!  Can you tell from these photos? They play these characters naturally.

Although Rylan changed his mind, Abby was still on the hook for being Daphne's back up help, Scooby Doo.  She looks a little bit more laid back though, right?  No nervous energy here. And she doesn't even require any scooby snacks!

We hope you find a little magic in your day wherever you are.  Happy Halloween!

morning!

It's a busy week here between all the activities we have planned and our normal day to day activities.

Yesterday,  MC celebrated the 50th day of school with a 1950's day.  After a super fun weekend, we all laid in mom and dad's bed and watched the movie Grease to get her ready for the special day.  She loved the movie and was so very excited to dress up and play the part for school. A dance party with root beer floats was the highlight of the day, and she also loved that she was wearing an outfit just like her teacher.

"Mom..Ms. V and I took a special photo together for the yearbook.  Only us mom, because we both had these cool sunglasses."  Love it.  Fun lurks everywhere for kids.

Will be back on Halloween for some spooktackular photos!  We are hoping the rain stays aways at least for part of the holiday. Have a great week.

All caught up!

It's been two months in the making, but I am officially up to date with this album.  Feels so great..now if  I can just take a bit of time every week to document THAT week, all will be good.  I am sure I'll fall behind again at some point, but I love when I can be on top of the project.  Now to work on a few household projects..always something (yes, honey, I will straighten up the garage so we can move our cars back inside :)).

So this week takes us back to the end of September and the last one is just last week.
Enjoy.

Michigan..part III.

With Makenna riding a two wheeler proficiently, she was eager to come along for the ride so the 5 of us set out on the 15 miles course.  The route is always pretty hilly with rolling hills and we ride in the streets that aren't closed (allbeit country roads) so I wasn't sure how MC was really going to hold up but I figured she could at least make it to the rest stop at 10 miles.

Before ride photos....Makenna was all smiles going out on the course, and obviously more enthralled with her Aunt and Uncle than her parents. LOL.
Well, she not only made it to the rest stop, but she made it all the way to the start the line, riding about 18 miles in total!  She conquered the hills with confidence, passing adults walking up with their bike beside them! The most wonderful thing was that she had the best positive attitude throughout the entire ride.  Here she is leading us to her finish line.
Way to go makenna claire!

Her brother was so very proud of her!

And so were we!

After taking a family portrait, and giving her the biggest high fives and congratulations, the four of us headed back out on the course and did a total of 55 miles.  Such a great day and another day leaving us with memories of good times.

Here's the PL layout from that week.

And that's Michigan, with only one more layout to share to be all caught up on 2013. Woot.

Our little irish dancer, and then some...

This past weekend MC had another feis (irish dance competition) and loved having so much family there to support her and watch her on stage.  She loves to perform so she is in all her glory each and every time she competes.

I l.o.v.e. all of the different facial expressions in this photo.  LOL!

I am jumping around a bit while I finish the final catch up to our weekly scrapbook.  I was short on photos the week Ry had surgery so I decided to something a little different.. and I love it!  I see more of these type of pages in the future.

And because I was already editing the photos from last week, I decided to go ahead and do that layout.

Bam Bam Sister Sam! :)  Be back soon.
