Memorial Day Weekend

We hope everyone enjoyed the long holiday weekend. We spent ours relaxing and spending time with our neighbors and family. Scott started the weekend by running a 10K followed immediately by a 5K. He ran just under 7 minute miles and got 4th place in his age group for the 10K. He continues to rock the house down with his athleticism. We are all so proud of you!!!

Makenna received her first hair cut this weekend. She was a star and enjoyed "riding" the car and watching Barney (her current FAV!) while she had her hair trimmed. Her hair looks darling and now Mommy doesn't have to put it up in ponys everyday!! Yippee!

Yumm..... this sucker is the icing on the cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY LITTLE CRAFTER

One of Makenna's favorite rooms in the house is Mommy's craft room. She loves to play with all the markers and pretend to be like Mommy. One day last week, my mom and I were crafting in our kitchen and Makenna woke up from her nap and wanted to help. Too precious...I look forward to many more craft times with you, my baby girl. xoxo

SCOTT IS A TRIATHLETE!!!!

He did it!!! Scott finished his first triatholon with flying colors!!!! Despite the chilly waters (46 degrees) of the lake, he completed his first open water swim and then biked and ran the mega hills of Galena to victory. Makenna Claire meets ELMO!!!

Elmo made a visit to Chicago and MC was one of the lucky little girls to see him sing and dance on stage.  As a birthday gift from Nana,  Makenna had a blast watching all the characters come to life and sing their way on Sesame Street.  Thank You Nana!!!!!

TAKE TIME TO SMELL THE FLOWERS

Today we visited our favorite garden nursery and boy did MC have a great time.  She loved seeing and smelling all the flowers, helping Dad carry the flats, playing in the dirt and even showing off her belly amongst the beauty!  All in a days play!   Tomorrow, she is going to plant!!!   Who knew she already has a green thumb and is such the gardener!!!

CONGRATULATIONS BABE!!  I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!!  WOWIE!!!

Scott kicked off his race calendar with the Shamrock Shuffle in March and it is now in full motion.  This past weekend he ran the Seven Bridges 10 mile race and kicked some booty.  He set a personal goal to beat his last year's time by five minutes and he beat it by just about 10 minutes.  Running  7.5 minute miles (on average), he finished the race in an hour and fourteen minutes.  Oh my goodness.  You are awesome and I admire your stamina, dedication, care of yourself  and your love of life.  I am so proud of you baby!!  I can't wait to cheer you on in your first triathlon in two weeks!!  WAY TO GO!!  (now hurry home...the peanut and I are waiting for you)
xoxo
