It's a Hard Knock Life

For Us......Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I LOVE You, Tomorrow....Your Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile...I Don't Need Anything But You!.....Little Girls, Little Girls....

Can you guess what I am referring to? If you are a girl, you surely know what these songs are to, right? Yessss....ANNIE!!!

ANNIE made a visit to Chicago and it was a girls afternoon in the city. Having been raised on the story, and now with MC adoring the little red haired girl, it was only fitting to bring her to the theatre to see ANNIE on stage. She was over the moon excited to wear her red dress, just like Annie, and adorn her ANNIE shoes, that the anticipation nearly got the best of her. With a twirl of her dress and a tap of the dance shoes, we headed to the Auditorium Theatre for truly a magical afternoon.

Makenna's eyes widened as we entered the Theatre...overcome by the sea of dressed up little girls and the excitement in the air. Of course, Nana had to find a special gift for her so we headed to the merchandise stand. MC thought Sandy needed a new owner, so Nana reached into her wallet for the purchase. A very loved dog he has indeed become!

Soon the house doors opened and we were seated to our very awesome seats. The show starts..and MC has her undivided attention on the stage. Annie enters..."Nana...look Annie!!!" So excited...she couldn't take her eyes off the stage. And when Sandy entered, I think everyone surrounding us heard her squeel..."Sandy..it's Sandy!!" So incredibly sweet. So much fun. I wish I could mentally tape it forever in my mind. Amazingly so, her enthralment lasted throughout much of the 3 hour show!

Makenna is still beaming in her ANNIE afterglow. Singing almost the entire song of "Tomorrow" and carrying her Sandy dog with her to play and to bed, she relives the day. Today and Tomorrow.

"Mommy..I want to go see ANNIE again!"

"I know sweetheart.....me too."

(Thank you NANA for a fun afternoon full of nostalgic memories! xoxo)
